Our History
The Taylor West Weber Park District was originally The Western Weber Park District which was organized as a special service district in 2017 by the Utah State Lt. Governor’s office to provide park service to the total area of the unincorporated portion of western Weber County. It was proposed on a ballot for the November elections that year and passed. The Board was officially organized with members from the communities of Taylor, Warren and West Weber.
In 2019, Warren decided to de-annex from the district. They were successful in their petition.
In 2020, the board regrouped, and hired JUB as the Western Weber Park Board engineering services. We started the process to develop a master plan for the Park District.
We have collected community input into the types of parks, kind of amenities the community wants. This long-range plan was adopted December 5, 2022.
The Western Weber Park Board name was officially changed to Taylor West Weber Park Board on May 16, 2022. This name better reflects the area the park board serves.
In November 2022 the Taylor West Weber Park District received deed to 9.5 acres of land for a public park. Also included is an easement for a horse trail along the north border of the Taylor Landing Subdivision.
